On behalf of the Free National Movement and the Bahamian people, I extend our prayers and unwavering support to our brothers and sisters in Jamaica as they brace for the impact of Hurricane Melissa.
We are deeply concerned about the forecasts indicating that this storm could be catastrophic. Our hearts are with every family, every community, and every first responder preparing for what lies ahead. The people of The Bahamas stand in solidarity with Jamaica and the wider Caribbean, united by shared history, friendship, and faith in God’s protection.
In moments like these, we are reminded of how interconnected we are as island nations and the strength that comes from regional unity and compassion. We pray for the safety of all those in the path of the storm and for a swift recovery in its aftermath.
May God watch over Jamaica, our Caribbean neighbors, and keep their people safe.
Hon. Michael C. Pintard, M.P.
Leader of the Free National Movement
