Over the past several months, there have also been repeated incidents where Western Air and Bhamas air flights were unable to land because the runway lights were not on. This pattern points to a serious and ongoing infrastructure problem that must be urgently addressed.
This tragedy further underscores the pressing need to improve conditions at the Exuma Healthcare Centre and reduce the frequent reliance on emergency airlifts to Nassau. Residents should not have to fear falling ill because of gaps in local healthcare and critical infrastructure.
I call on Dr. Michael Darville and MP Chester Cooper to provide clear timelines and immediate solutions. The people of Exuma and Ragged Island deserve accountability, transparency, and decisive action.
