Remembering MCM Andrew Sturrup

It is with profound sadness that I extend sincere condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of our esteemed Meritorious Council Member, Andrew Sturrup.

The passing of MCM Sturrup is a significant loss to the Free National Movement, the people of Rock Sound, and The Bahamas. Throughout his life, he demonstrated a deep commitment to public service, to the ideals of our party, and, above all, to his family, whom he loved dearly and always placed at the center of his life.

As one of the founding fathers of the Rock Sound Homecoming, MCM Sturrup devoted countless years to preserving his community’s heritage while championing its growth and development. His vision, determination, and persistence were instrumental in numerous community-building initiatives, including installing lights at the Rock Sound Softball Field, a lasting symbol of his belief that the people of Rock Sound deserved the very best. This achievement was but one example of a lifetime dedicated to service and the advancement of others.

MCM Sturrup will be remembered as a loyal party member, a respected community leader, and a man whose legacy will continue to inspire future generations. His contributions have left an indelible mark on his community and our nation.

On behalf of my wife, Berlice, the officers and members of the Free National Movement, I extend our deepest sympathies to his beloved wife, Sarah, his daughter, Gianna, and the entire Sturrup family during this time of profound loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, and we pray that God will grant you strength, comfort, and peace in the days ahead.

May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his legacy of faithful service endure for generations to come.
