HON. MICHAEL PINTARD SALUTES BAHAMIAN MOTHERS
To the mothers of our country,
As Leader of the Free National Movement, Leader of His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition, and Member of Parliament for Marco City, I extend heartfelt gratitude to the mothers of our nation. Whether you are a mother by birth, by love, or by guidance, your impact is immeasurable. I know that for many of you, this day is a time of celebration and reflection. Some of you are raising children alone, working multiple jobs, or caring for elderly parents while still making sure the bills are paid and food is on the table. Others are grieving the loss of their own mother or a child.
I see you. And I thank you. But gratitude alone is not enough. You deserve more than flowers once a year—you deserve a country that supports your dreams and honours your sacrifices.
We should be a country where no mother has to choose between her child’s school fees and the grocery bill. We should be a country where the safety of you and your children is a priority. Today, I recommit to the work required to build that kind of future.
May you feel seen, cherished, and celebrated today and every day. From my heart to yours, I wish each of you a Happy Mother’s Day.
