My wife Berlice and I join the entire Free National Movement family in extending heartfelt
condolences on the passing of MCM Chenena Lockhart-Gibson. She is another warrior in the
illustrious history of the FNM that has gone on to her reward.
Chenena was a vital part of the FNM, having been with us from its inception. The story has been
told of how our founding members met in her father’s house for brainstorming and planning
meetings before walking away from the Progressive Liberal Party.
The Free National Movement is a better organization because of individuals such as Chenena,
who worked tirelessly with the party and received its highest recognition as a Meritorious
Council Member.
Chenena was courageous, honest, and full of tenacity. Her life was dedicated to service from a
very young age, and in her golden years, she continued to give back by going above and beyond.
She was always willing to share her wisdom with each person she came in contact with and
asked nothing in return.
As a former president of the Pilots Club of Freeport, she always encouraged young women to
come to the forefront and serve their communities wholeheartedly.
She was a faithful and diligent member of our family and even during sickness tried to be at
meetings and help where needed. I will miss her guidance, candid opinion and love.
Our prayers are with Chenena’s loving children, Cecile and Michael, and her brother, Rev.
Robert Lockhart.
May she rest in peace and rise in glory!
