On a day when Bahamians should be celebrating together, our hearts are heavy over the devastating news of a plane crash in San Andros around noon today.
At this time, there is still much that we do not know. Until we receive additional official updates, we encourage Bahamians everywhere to continue praying for the loved ones of those who perished and for those passengers reported to be in critical condition. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this tragedy.
We also pray for the emergency personnel, first responders, residents and all those involved in the response efforts. We ask God’s protection and safe passage for everyone travelling across the archipelago and for those participating in the various celebrations during this holiday period.
The attention and emotions of our country have been gripped by a series of tragedies in recent weeks. These unfortunate deaths remind us of the fragility of life and of the need to find ways to pull together when there is so much that seeks to tear us apart.
