FNM Leader offers condolences

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

28 June, 2026

Last night’s heartbreaking accidents in New Providence  and Grand Bahama reminded us once again that life is precious and fragile, and that tragedy can visit any family without warning.

At least five families are dealing with unimaginable pain this morning, after five young ladies became traffic fatalties. We owe these families our support, our prayers and grace as they grieve.

We also pray for those in hospital as a result of traffic accidents over the last few days.

I would not use this time for speculation or assigning blame while families are grieving.

It is, however, the time for all of us—government, opposition, road safety experts, contractors, engineers, and citizens—to examine what practical steps can be taken immediately to make our roads safer, encourage more vigilance, and to minimize tragedies of this kind in the future.

Every life lost is one too many.

May God comfort every grieving family, strengthen those who mourn, and watch over our nation during this time of profound sorrow.

Hon. Michael C. Pintard
