GEORGETOWN, EXUMA Free National Movement candidate for Exumas and Ragged Island,
Debra Moxey Rolle, is calling for urgent accountability and immediate action following a tragic
accident that has claimed the life of a young man in Exuma.
“This is devastating. It is unacceptable,” Moxey Rolle said. “Another young life lost. Another
delayed emergency response. Another family left with grief and unanswered questions.”
Reports indicate that the ambulance response time in this latest incident was 58 minutes.
“Fifty eight minutes,” she said. “No family in Exuma should have to endure standing by while a
loved one remains in critical condition, waiting nearly an hour for help to arrive.”
Moxey Rolle pointed to what she described as a longstanding failure to address healthcare and
emergency response challenges in the constituency.
“After ten years of representation at the highest levels, including the Office of Deputy Prime
Minister, the people of Exuma are still facing the same serious deficiencies. We have heard the
promises. We have seen the announcements. The question remains, where are the results?”
She said the time for explanations has passed and that decisive action is now required.
“We need properly resourced clinics, reliable emergency services, and response times that reflect
the value of human life. What we cannot accept is a system that leaves residents waiting and
hoping.”
Moxey Rolle also reaffirmed the Free National Movement’s commitment to improving healthcare
standards across The Bahamas.
“An FNM administration is committed to ensuring that every Bahamian has access to healthcare
with dignity, urgency, and proper medical attention when it is most needed. That is not a privilege.
It is a basic right.”
She urged residents to demand better representation and outcomes.
“The people of Exuma and Ragged Island deserve leadership that delivers. We must break this
cycle of loss, delay, and disappointment.”
Moxey Rolle extended condolences to the family affected by the tragedy.
“My prayers are with you during this difficult time. Your loss will not be ignored, and your voices
will be heard.”
