Brian Brown, FNM Candidate for Golden Isles: Nomination Speech “Golden Isles Is Not for Sale”

Good morning, FNMs!

Look around this crowd today. This is what community looks like. And this is what change feels like!

My name is Brian Berkley Brown, better known as “Triple B”, and I am proud to stand before you as the next Member of Parliament for Golden Isles!

But more than that, I stand before you as your neighbor, your friend, and your brother from Golden Isles.

For more than twenty years, I’ve lived in this community. I’ve worked alongside many of you. And I’ve served this community, not for the cameras, but because I love Golden Isles and the people who call it home.

When families were in crisis, I showed up.

When our community needed cleaning, I rolled up my sleeves.

When our young people needed guidance, I created opportunities.

Through Camp Golden Isles, we gave children a safe place to learn and grow. Through free BJC and BGCSE classes, we helped students get the fair chance they deserve. And through community breakfasts, senior luncheons, and  family giveaways, we came together as one community, one family, one Golden Isles.

I didn’t do these things because an election was coming. I did them because that’s what you deserve. Leadership means service, and service means showing up even when no one is watching.

Now, the PLP hopes you’ll forget all of that.

They pick someone out of thin air. Someone who doesn’t live here, doesn’t know our struggles, and won’t change a thing.

He ain’t loyal to Golden Isles.

He’s loyal to Philip Davis and the PLP He just looking for his opportunity. He is campaigning straight from the PLP playbook: show up before an election, pave a few roads, hand out a few contracts, take a few pictures, and hope you forget their bad ways.

Well, Golden Isles, I have news for them: we ain’t forget!

We ain’t forget the high cost of living.

We ain’t forget these BPL bills.

We ain’t forget those contracts for the few, but not for you.

We ain’t forget the violence in our streets and the neglect in our clinics and schools.

They have failed the Bahamian people, and now they want to buy their way back into your hearts.

But listen to me: Golden Isles is not for sale! You can pave every road, patch every sidewalk, and host every ribbon-cutting, but you cannot buy trust.

I am not big on talking. I don’t slap up. I work. And I have a plan.

When you send me to Parliament, I’ll fight every single day to make life easier for families in Golden Isles.

I’ll push for better infrastructure: safe roads, reliable drainage, proper street lighting.

I’ll champion small businesses so we can create real jobs right here at home.

I’ll work with our police, churches, and civil society groups to make Golden Isles safer for our children and families.

And I’ll fight for better healthcare, education, and a social support system – not just for some, but for everyone.

Because representation is not about being seen on TV, it’s about being seen in the community. And that’s where you’ll always find me; right here, among you.

FNM’s the choice in this by-election could not be clearer.

You have a government that has forgotten you, and a movement that will work for you.

You have a candidate who just reach, or you someone who’s been here all along. Through thick and thin. In good times and in bad.

On November 24, it’s time to send a message that the PLP can’t ignore. Show them that hard work pays off.

Tell your friends. Tell your neighbors. Tell every family member in Golden Isles: this time around, we goin’ with Brian Brown!

Let’s make history on November 24.

Let’s take back Golden Isles.

Thank you, and God bless you all.
