Born in Nassau, Michael Pintard is the son of Laura Pearline Benson and John Samuel Pintard.

A dedicated scholar at an early age, Michael first earned his Associate Degree at The College of The Bahamas. Not settled by this feat, he continued his educational journey to the US, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in agronomy at Tuskegee University.

Subsequently, Michael completed several graduate-level courses in agricultural economics at Montreal, Canada’s McGill University.

These studies in the agriculture field made Michael the perfect fit for the Minnis Administrations Minister of Agriculture and Marine Resources, which he currently serves.

He is an internationally certified compliance and anti-money laundering officer, a licensed real estate agent, accomplished playwright and humourist, a teacher, radio talk show host, motivational speaker, and writer who has lectured and performed domestically and abroad.

His credits include “Still Standing” and “Men Talk,” and he has collaborated on “Election 2002: If you don’t laugh, you’ll cry,” “Election 2007: Count it again, man, count it again,” and “Women Talk.” The five theatrical productions are said to be the longest-running and best-attended productions in Bahamian history.

Michael was a founding partner in Congo Town Development Ltd., a Bahamian company focused on developing housing in urban centers, and a former consultant to the Government of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas for the ministries responsible for economic development, tourism, youth, sports, and culture.

Michael was the organizational development manager for Grand Bahama Airport Company, Freeport Harbour Company, and Freeport Container Port.

Following the party’s defeat of the 2021 national election, on November 27, 2021 Michael Pintard was elected as the leader of The Free National Movement.

Michael is married to the former Berlice Lightbourne, and they live in Freeport, Grand Bahama.
