Heather Hunt

Heather L. Watkins-Hunt is an attorney and public servant with nearly two decades of legal and leadership experience, grounded in faith, service, and a deep commitment to the Bahamian people. A native of New Providence, she has dedicated her professional and public life to advancing fairness, accountability, and opportunity.

She is a graduate of Queen’s College and pursued further studies abroad, earning advanced Spanish language certification from the Becari Institute in Oaxaca, Mexico. She went on to complete an associate’s degree with Honours in English and Spanish from the College of The Bahamas, a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of the West Indies, and a Legal Education Certificate from the Eugene Dupuch Law School. While in private practice, she also earned a Postgraduate Diploma in European Community Competition Law from King’s College London.

Mrs. Watkins-Hunt is an Attorney-at-Law with almost 20 years of experience and is the Managing Attorney of Hunt Law Chambers, a boutique law firm with offices in New Providence and Abaco.

Her record of public service includes candidacy for the Free National Movement in Marathon in 2012, followed by service as an Opposition Senator for two and a half years. She has also served as a member of the Road Traffic Authority, Deputy Chairperson of the Bahamas Mortgage Corporation, and Deputy Chairperson of the Mental Health Tribunal. Within the FNM, she previously served as Deputy Chairman and currently sits as an elected Executive Member.

Heather is the widow of the late Dario Hunt, with whom she shared 20 years of marriage, and the proud mother of three daughters. She remains actively engaged in civic and professional life, including service to youth and the legal community, guided by her faith and a lifelong commitment to service.
