Brave Davis Remains Divorced for Reality

Jun 22, 2021

The Free National Movement (FNM) issued the following statement regarding Brave Davis’ continued refusal to apologize for using an expletive in Parliament and obstructing the Government’s work:

“The Prime Minister said it best yesterday when he said Brave Davis is ‘divorced from reality’. Whether being kicked out of Parliament, hurling expletives on the floor of Parliament, or tearing down any positive thing in The Bahamas, Brave has sadly shown that he is more committed to waging a partisan, politically-motivated attack campaign than he is committed to working towards real solutions for the Bahamian people.

“Day in and day out he shows he lacks the character and the mental acuity to lead a country – from his childish, school yard taunts that must be expunged from the record by the House Speaker, to his repeated and contradictory attacks on the pandemic relief efforts. Brave is becoming more and more unhinged by the day, much like his mentor Perry Christie as the last election neared.

“Brave sadly has learned little to no lessons from the last election and is following in the footsteps of his mentor, Perry Christie, seemingly thinking the rules apply don’t apply to him. Davis’ disruption in Parliament would have been regrettable to anyone that hopes to be a positive example for the next generation of Bahamians. But Brave doesn’t see the issue and refuses to apologize – just like Perry Christie refused to do after serving up an obscene gesture in public during a PLP rally. And neither do the other woeful leaders of the PLP that remain silent, allowing Davis the autonomy to rule their party without a care in the world.

“Brave’s attitude and antics do show he is divorced from reality and prove his contempt for the Bahamian people.”
