Fred Mitchell’s Rant Reveals PLP Leaderships’ Childishness

Apr 28, 2021

The Free National Movement (FNM) issued the following statement in response to PLP Chairman, Fred Michell’s latest politically motivated partisan attack:

“One doesn’t need to look hard to see Brave Davis in the background manipulating his trusted puppet, Fred Mitchell, to carry out their latest, broken-record partisan political attack. The disastrous duo has proven they will say anything and everything to talk down the efforts to work through crises that have hit our country. Most see a time of crisis as an opportunity to bring Bahamians together and work for the common good. Sadly, Brave and his puppet, Fred, see it as an opportunity to try and score bizarre political points.

“To hear puppet Fred Mitchel tell it, the Government is to blame for all the unavoidable impacts of back-to-back unprecedented crisis. Ignoring the fact these hardships struck the rest of the world – some far worse than the Bahamas, as the tragedy playing out in India shows – from day one, our Government has worked with healthcare experts, analyzed the data and made the tough decisions in an effort to mitigate the adverse impact of the pandemic. Of course, this was the same duo screaming out against many of those efforts that helped to lessen some of the outbreaks that hit other countries worldwide at different points over the past year.

“There is a stark contrast between the Minnis Administration’s response to crisis where they are implementing the largest benefit program in the nation’s history to help Bahamians impacted by the global pandemic in a transparent and accountable way; versus the woeful PLP’s corrupt and incompetent response to Hurricane Matthew where loads of money and resources went missing with little to know help to people in need.

“Regardless of Brave and his puppet’s latest irresponsible and absurd charges, the Minnis Administration has proven they will continue working to prioritize the health and safety of all Bahamians while sustaining a safe and responsible reopening.”
